PROGRAM BACKGROUND

With the increasing knowledge and know-how of the Internet among the youth, there have been many negative consequences, which sometimes seem to imbalance the benefits of new technologies. A copy/paste culture among the students is one such consequence of unlimited access to information, which is seriously undermining the education system in more than a way.

 

Gone are the days, when assignments and researches have actually been worked upon, books were referred, experts were consulted, and then the final thing precisely written down neatly. Now, a research or an assignment is tackled by logging onto the Internet, putting in some key words in the search engine, surfing relevant web pages, and then combining their content to produce a coherent printed material.

Consequently, the new generation having higher education moving to the future of societies with copy/paste mind, where they face a variety of problems like; risk of mass and disguised unemployment, lack of interpersonal and technological skills, social exclusion, incompetent leadership and management skills, deficient knowledge in the specialty field, violent extremism and other such areas that defines the gap between them and their set prospects.

So how to put an end to this?

To this state of mind, I - School of Professional Trainings (I-SoPT) initiated “Smart Mind Banking (SMB)”, an online research help desk to address this question.
